Slip covers are great products for extending the life of your furniture piece. Whether that piece is a couch, a sofa, a love seat, a dining table even—your piece is guaranteed to be taken well cared of within the security and safety of a slip cover. Slip covers are a particularly good idea for family heirloom pieces that are particularly susceptible to the damaging effects of soot, of cooking and other culinary—but savory—scents and essences that emanate from the kitchen. Slip covers are also great for light traveling, if your pieces are intended for transport between short distances, all you’ll need to use to protect your product or furniture piece is a slip cover. The slip cover if simply left atop a furniture piece will be enough to protect your piece from stains—though it will not do anything to protect against a harsh impact. Slip covers perform their function well, and as intended. They’re convenient little devices that protect and preserve the market value of your beloved furniture pieces, and extend the life of those very well. What the covers do, as well, are make great conversation pieces, as well as great collectibles. Many rare and limited edition slip covers are out there, but so are covers that have been fashioned as pop art pieces as well. Popular pop artists have taken slip covers as their canvasses and such art pieces are valued at particularly high market prices. Similar to paintings of common household items, such as pieces by Andy Warhol, these slip cover art pieces are a cross between pop art statements on society, and useable, wearable akin to the hand painted Nike shoe art pieces of the hip hop and rap communities. Slip covers are also lauded for their environmental impact—which is close to null and none. These products are often made by very sustainable methods and are increasingly made to be compostable—a process by which everyday waste can be made into potable soil for use on a farm and in a home’s vegetable garden. If you’re tired of an old slip cover, don’t just throw it away. Use the slip cover’s constituent materials in order to make further use of it all. Another way to recycle your slip cover is to break the product up into its primary pieces; this might only mean tearing the sheets apart, but can also involve disassembling zippers and other metal objects that were used in and of the product. Slip covers also make for great house warming presents. If you’ve got a few house warming parties scheduled for the near future, you’d do yourself well by shopping online for some cute and feisty slip covers. Make the slip cover the topic of conversation at the party, by buying one that’s outlandish—but also buy one that they can use on a daily basis. You can buy one, for example, that’s sort of offensive—go for the shock value laugh. You can buy one that’s personally funny; they make slip cover, COVERS made of a material, you aren’t able to sit on like slip covers, but you can have printed pictures on—like pictures of the celebrants doing something particularly embarrassing, would be a nice touch. Of course, remember to be tasteful, and that you don’t want to ‘cause too much trouble when it comes to these. |
